Enginyer industrial per la Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) l'any 2011, màster en Tecnologies de la Informació per la Universitat de les Illes Balears (UIB) l'any 2013 i doctorand en Informàtica també a la UIB des del 2014. Professor associat des del 2015 en els estudis d'enginyeria industrial a les assignatures de Regulació Automàtica i Robòtica.

En Miquel Massot és també membre del grup d'investigació Systems, Robotics and Vision (SRV) i ha format part de projectes d'investigació nacionals i internacionals com a enginyer de projectes en l'àrea de la robòtica submarina.
