Nobel laureate in literature in 1989, Dr Camilo José Cela Trulock was a tenured full Professor in Spanish Literature and Popular Geography at the University of the Balearic Islands. Specialising in Hispanic Studies, he worked in the Faculty of Philosophy and Arts from 24th July 1980 to 30th September 1985, when he took mandatory retirement. However, Dr Cela Trulock remained active within academe until July 1996, participating in different activities, including as a PhD panel member at different institutions, such as the University of Valencia.
