Departments are teaching and research units in charge of:

• Coordinating the teaching of one or several areas of knowledge in one or several centres, in accordance with the university's teaching programme
• Providing support for the teaching and research activities and initiatives of academic staff
• Performing specific duties as set out in the university's statutes.
